HELP!! My rooster is limping an has a soft bump on his ankle. It looks swollen; I know it's not bumble bump. Please let me know what I should do!

How do you know it's not a "Bumble bumb"? Bumble foot is simply a staph infection that has gotten into the leg. Left untreated, the infection will probably travel up the leg and kill your bird. Any type of swelling that occurs locally, would most likely be an infection due to a puncture of some type. I would put your bird on antibiotics and monitor the swelling to see if it goes down. Good luck.

Thanks. Usually bumble foot occurs on the bottom of the feet but yet can be. What type of antibiotics should I use. I been rubbing his ankle with Bengay but it seems like its not getting better. If you can give me some helps on antibiotics would be great.

My vet prescribes Baytril for an antibiotic but there are probably others you can use. There are a number of threads on this board concerning antibiotics people have given their birds.
