Mystery Cochin, bought as a black frizzle cochin bantam, which she is not...

Hi!

Never had a cochin before, so I'm totally lost with this baby.
Here's pictures of my small cochin mystery chicken, Dahlia:

And now... I noticed she (is the gender at least right, right?) started to have tiny little white feathers around her comb and face.



...and the I noticed she has some white feathers in the wings too!


What's happening? I guess she is bantam cochin, but is she going to be mottled?

When you buy frizzled chicks not all of them will actually turn out to be frizzled. Which is why yours isn't. A Mottled Cochin bantam would have much more white on it and many times young black chicks will have some white feathers on their wings. Sadly, I'm leaning towards it being a cockerel but I would post more pictures in a few weeks too be sure

I also have a mystery Cochin who's got the same white on their wings. I was told that it was a silver laced Cochin after I posted a few pictures. The wings are very similar to yours pictured. Good luck
