Hatch date 8/20 (almost 9 weeks), all the same turken. The frizzles are one of each so I've been using those for comparison but I'm stumped. Cheeks turn red when excited and are pale otherwise.

Lots of red in the comb and face, but the comb/wattles are pretty small. So I can see why you're confused. To me this is a classic case of needing to wait longer than is usual, because it is giving mixed signals. I would just keep an eye on it for a few more weeks and then post again if it isn't clear by then. At 12 weeks or so male specific feathering should start to show if it is a boy.

The turken is 💯 male
The feather coloration plus you can just see little saddle like feathers on him
It is wing feathers, he has no saddle feathers yet. But I totally forgot about barring being different for the sexes

Did you buy the chick, or hatch it yourself? If you hatched it, do you know the colors of the parents? (I'm just wondering if the parents happen to be a pair that produces color-sexable chicks.)

I see a pattern of black and silver, but I am not seeing actual barring. (Which may say more about what I see than it does about the chicken  )

As for whether barring is different for males vs. females: only sometimes. A male can have the "female" version, if one of his parents has barring and the other does not.

The feather coloration
What about the feather coloration is saying male to you?

I see a few feathers with narrow pointy black markings inside feathers that have white around the edges, but I can't make out the actual feather shape involved. I know that females can have pointy markings inside their rounded feathers, so I've learned that pointy markings are more confusing than useful.

No changes with the feathers anywhere, all still rounded closeup. The slightly bigger waddles are still the only difference I see. The frizzle is female, her male twin was super obvious and has already been rehomed.

Still no change other than thinking my phone is now food. Will be 16 weeks in 2 days, guessing this is a crow or lay situation.

I'm thinking probably female at this point, but laying an egg would be a very helpful confirmation.
