Same thing here! Today it rained almost all day. Coop and garage are open, plus there's the deck they can take cover, but nope. They just stay out there as bug hunting is such a priority I guess!Haha! I can relate, my silkies stand out in the rain and won’t go under shelter. One of them always gets stuck in between the two fences and I trying to be with her friends when the wide open door is right next to her.
lol. Their head puffs get smaller when wet so they can see betterI think the water thing is universal to all chickens who have silkied feathering
I might message her picture to you so you can put a trophy in her hand lol.Tag me so I can see it!
You may have a point there! They were playing stand-off with a squirrel who was goading them on a tree out there today. I'd see them run to charge it and was amazed they could even see it.lol. Their head puffs get smaller when wet so they can see better
Yes!! Quite a few babies left. Mostly in the 2nd batch but I believe an egg or two from first batch is still up? I will have to check the thread and update it. I went to make dinner and there are like 3 new pages XDAny left? Cause I'm a dnd nerd!
We did it with three weeks difference so it might work, but you need an area where these nuggets get their 90F the first week and your others have a way to get away from it. These four lived together for a couple of months until I sold the Speckled Sussex chicks as my heart was with staying with just silkies. The orphan got tripped over a few times but she learned to look out for the bigger ones. These are the 7 pullets that any hatched eggs will join. They are around 4 weeks old give or take
Something I bought off of Amazon tbh lol. What are you useing to candle? That's the best looking candling? I've seen.
