need help / information on automatic water supply system to create humidity in incubator

Can someone explain the GQF 3030 system dynamics? This is the 5 gal. tank with a hose going into the watering tray in the cabinate incubator type system. What stops the water from just overflowing the pan and running out into the incubator?

I use to have i believe it was the 1502 sportsmans incubator.It had the bucket on top like your referring to.
Anyway,the water level was maintained by a float in the pan,similar to a float in a toilet.Once the float was raised by the water to a certain level,it then sealed off the flow.Not sure if you were looking for more of an explanation than this or not,but this is the basics of it.Ross

Thanks Ross that was what was looking for. I was tring to make one rather then buy one. I finally decided to buy one as I couldn't find a float that would work well enough.
