I really do appreciate all the input. I only posted on here to see what people thought could have killed my chicken before it completely wipes me out. I know the coop needs to be shut up at night and I have been spending all day making arrangements to be able to do so. My coop was built when I had turkeys so it is very big with plenty of ventilation.All of my animals on my farm are my babies.
 
I agree with Sourland's opinion that the predator was a Great Horned Owl. Probably too dark for a hawk to have done the deed.
