Definitely try to find a feed with a higher fat percentage than 6 (for example I think some go up to 16%). Some weight building supplements off the top of my head are Cool Calories, Fat Cat, Weight Builder...you could look at websites like Dover Saddlery, Smartpak Equine, Jeffers. Try purchasing some Timothy hay. When you can have your vet out and see if you mare has Cushings--it affects a lot of the older horses. Good luck to you.

Have you try purina senior feed with her? We had a senior horse and she kept weight wonderfully. You can also mix in the normal alfalfa and such with it too.

She wont eat senior feed, we also cant afored a lot. maybe I can buy a few bags of feed that is high high in fat and mix it in with the other feed?

Sorry, I never updated y'all. Abigail was humanely euthanized. Turns out she had cancer and that was her reason she would NEVER gain weight with anything.
