We had a pleasant surprise today! I heard peeping in our coop and found these 3 little babies. (pics) now any idea what they are lol?

Do you have any Australorps?

Are you letting the broody momma raise them? Congratulations!

We do not have Australorps that is the crazy part. We moved them inside as she is sitting on several more eggs and we want her to hatch them out too. The mom is our buff orpington. Our Rooster got killed around the time she turned broody so we figured none of those eggs were fertile and we were just letting her sit on them to remain broody until we got a new rooster. The old Rooster was a barred Rock.

A female can be fertile 2 to 3 weeks after she has mated.
