Your site was recommended to me by a member on another site that has a Homestead, Farming and Garden section. We are no strangers to country life, but we have recently moved to Colorado and are now in a position to become more self-sufficient. We have our own well and are in the process of going Solar. Our next project is to raise chickens for their eggs. We have four acres of yard, so that will give us plenty of room for moving a coop around.
We are new to chickens, however, my dad (Who is 92 and sharp as a tack) has raised chickens in his youth during the depression, so we have his experience to draw on. We don't have any chickens at the moment, but we would like to start out with 4-6 birds.
We made the move to Colorado because our daughter, son-in-law and grandson live here, so we came up to help out with raising him. We love to hike, kayak and bike ride, so Colorado is the perfect place for us.
We are hoping to get started on raising our flock of chickens soon!
