Hello All,
I'm new to BYC and excited to be on this site! I have not purchased any of my chickens yet as I'm still debating on what breeds I'm wanting. I looking that I will be getting around 10-12 laying hens. The coop is in process of construction now and will hopefully be done here within a week. Along with my new chicken hobby, I'm also into horses and having a small cow/calf herd. I have a wonderful husband that follows along with my ideas of bringing new animals into our little farm and a very energetic 14 month old daughter. We have 5 dogs and of course just a few barn cats. We love the country life and love raising these animals. I have lots to learn and am always looking for suggestions on my new hobby in chickens. Enjoy the day to all.......

I joined five minutes ago!

I've been reading this site off and on for a couple years and always wanted a little farm. A month ago, my wife and I bought our first house with a couple acres. And what was the first thing I did? Ordered chickens!

I've never had them before, but spent a lot of time around them as a kid in Indiana. Now I'm in Washington and we have our first ever batch! Looking forward to learning all over again. They just arrived two days ago from McMurray. Very exciting!
