Hello!! I am new here. I have never owned chickens before but have a deep desire to own my own backyard flock. I used to think chickens were dirty, gross, and not very friendly but after meeting people who properly cared for their chickens my thinking changed. I started researching permaculture and realized the true nature and benefit of having chickens. I currently live in Great Falls, MT and unfortunately they no longer allow backyard flocks, they used too in 2011. I am seeking to bring the ordinance back and am interested in any information that would help me to educate/persuade my neighbors and the city council to change their stance. I’m also hoping to meet people who will attend these meetings with me to show support and help break the stigma that unfairly follows these birds. I’m grateful to have finally found a place of like minded people. Thank you for having me.
