I am picking up my fives new pullets sons and wanted to know if they need to be kept out of the nesting boxes until they are old enough to lay. They will be 8 weeks when I pick them up and they will be the firstt of my flock.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
T

It's not strictly "necessary" but it's a good idea, since it will prevent them from roosting in the nest boxes - a bad habit to have formed once they actually begin to lay eggs. Nobody wants dirty eggs for breakfast.
