I have one roo and 10 pullets; all are between 18 and 22 weeks old. For some time, there has been one pullet who has been at the top of the female pecking order; in fact, I named her "Boss Hen." But yesterday at dusk, another pullet (Chicken Picken) decided to be the last one in the coop, and charged three others (including Boss Hen) to coerce them up the gangplank. Tonight, they all went up in an orderly manner except for Boss Hen and Chicken Picken. The two of them faced off three times, and finally Boss Hen gave in and went up; maybe I'll rename Chicken Picken to "Sheriff Picken."
