New to Chicken Raising

Hello all just wanted to introduce myself. I'm new to raising chickens and am having a blast. I have 5 Marraduna Basque chicks that are now 4 weeks old, I had no idea chickens were so friendly. They perk up whenever I enter their brooder area and want attention and petting, go figure. I'm looking forward to being on BYC, learning and reading from members here.

Welcome. They are fun.
I've heard they are friendly. Mine on the other hand, hate people. I have 34 that are 3 weeks old and go ballistic if they even see me.
As the expression goes "your results may vary".

Thanks Canoe, what breeds do you have?

They're Penedesencas. They're meant to be rustic/wild. Very predator proof but take about a year to warm up to their owner. Roosters a little less, hens a little longer. Strangers are still avoided at any age.
