Not sure yet. Dear fiance says we're getting TSC chicks. We'll see.. I want to try feather sexing, but if they're too old, I'm not risking 6 roos that were supposed to be pullets *laugh*

Omg the horror lol luckily my fiances boss has already agreed to take any accidental roos(even offered to buy them but we said we would just be glad to be rid of them) when is the wedding date?

That's a whole 'nother story ;) (divorce has been dragging on for 3 years, both sides are engaged to other people, custody is holding it up.)

Aiming for August 2013, hopefully...

Where can we buy chickens in Alabama? We live in Chelsea, near Birmingham and would like to purchase about 3 chickens for laying eggs and enjoying watching them.

Thanks!!

Look for your state thread here:

and ask the people in your area. Also try the BST section here:

Tractor Supply in Montevallo or Tuscaloosa will be carrying chicks by the end of February/early March. But any local feed store may carry some. I know there's a co-op store in Columbiana that carried them last year.

Wow - Thank you guys sooo much for all the wonderful feedback. I can see I am going to love being a member.

They can mail chickens?!?! I ask because we are also in Alabama and want to purchase chickens and not sure of the best place. Thanks!
