Hi,
Brand newbie to keeping chickens here in Western Australia.
Purchased our first 2 pullets in late December and now have 7. I live in suburbia so not roosters allowed BUT i know I have at least 1 coming along.
I have 1 Australorpe, 2 Australorpe X, 2 Barred Rock, and 2 Barnevelder who are all around 8-12 weeks old. I love sitting and watching them and they are getting more confident around me every day.
I have always had an assortment of animals but my only other pet at the moment is an older german shepherd - he likes the chooks a little too much.
I work in healthcare and find it de-stressing to sit and watch the chickens scratch around.
I found BYC via the many google searches I have done since getting the first chickens and have already made several mistakes. I look forward to learning from all the experienced people who share their knowledge so willingly. My thanks to you.
