Hello everyone
I'm new to this site and am so glad I stumbled upon it as it looks like it has a wealth of information on chickens. I have just ordered my first baby chicks which are coming May 16. (10 of them). I am reading as much as I can about how to prepare and what supplies i will need.

I am planning on keeping them in our heated garage for the first few weeks. Any suggestions on the best container for them? I live in Southern Ontario.

! Pleased you joined us! I use a 100 gallon Rubbermaid tote. But you can get by with a big cardboard box. Good luck to you!

Thank you. I grew up on a small farm and we had a few chickens along with a some other animals. I lived in towns or cities ever since until now. We have "retired" to the country. My husband has half heartedly agreed to my venture. We have an original carriage house on our property where I will eventually move the chickens if all goes well.

I'm having fun just getting to know this forum. Getting excited about my chicks. Should i ask if they are vaccinated?
