it had pipped about 30 hours ago but the membrane was drying, I read to drop water on the membrane to keep it wet, tried that but it dried up again. This morning I read to put coconut oil or olive oil as it wouldn't dry but I got up to see this, it looks to me like it has rupturedWelcome!
That looks like her yolk, not yet all absorbed. Keep it in the incubator until completely absorbed. Did you assist at all in the hatching? They need time to completely absorb the yolk.
Best wishes and good luck with the rest of your hatch!
If I place it on a paper towel do I need to wet it so it doesn't stick? Also do I leave it in the incubator or put it under the lamp, it's not dried out yet? It's the yolk and it needs time to absorb it. Definitely place inside a paper towel lined container and wait. It can take over 24 hours for it to fully absorb.
No do not wet the paper...Yes. It will be better off in the Brooder on paper towel..If I place it on a paper towel do I need to wet it so it doesn't stick? Also do I leave it in the incubator or put it under the lamp, it's not dried out yet?
