3 of my 7 girls are loosing their feathers, right above the tail. First i thought molting, then mites, now not sure. could they be bored? they were free ranging, but the town wants us to keep them fenced in. I try to enrich the pen with cabbage, treats, moving branches from time to time and such.
Last year this happened to one of my girls and she looked so sick, pale waddles, lethargic separating herself from the others and eventually we culled her. These girls are looking and acting fine. eating, drinking, pooing and laying just fine.
any thoughts?
