My about 8-9 month probably old mixed breed hen has only missed 1 day since she started laying a few months back. Suddenly she hasn't laid for 4 days straight. I haven't noticed her losing any feathers, though the 3 younger hens (who haven't started laying yet, 3 months old) are losing feathers.
I suppose she could be laying them in the yard somewhere since they free range all day, but she's always been very good about laying in "her" nest box. Ideas? Obviously, I'm still new to this! We live in Florida, so it isn't all that cold, and while the days are getting shorter, it doesn't feel that short.
