My beloved chickens ate a block of styrofoam that was lying in the driveway!!! WHAT AM I GOING TO DO??? THEY ATE A LOT[/b]. The chookies act normal but I'm very very very worried.

Mine love any kind of rigid foam. Spray insulation is a particular favourite. It passes right through. If you see some weird looking poo, don't be alarmed.

Not much you CAN do. Eaten is gone. Dont let them do it again.

Probably wont hurt them, though. Chooks have been eating styrofoam since its inception.

Stupid birds are drawn to styrofoam like moths to a flame.

Someone once posted a story of a hen that had eaten a good portion of foam. the next day she laid a speckled egg - yup, it had styrofoam bits on it.

yeah, mine did the same thing last year....it was half gone before I noticed

2 of my smallest bantams ate a large styrofoam bowl when they were only about half grown so not even 1lb in weight. They were fine. You quickly learn to keep such things out of chicken reach.
