North to Alaska!

A couple of my hens are eating the pine litter that gets kicked into their water. They will take a few drinks, then fish a piece or two out and eat it. Any thoughts on why? I figured they might be missing something from their diet, but what? Thanks for your suggestions!

Anyone in the Fairbanks area want do a swap?
I have
-One easily 15lb organic free range white Cornish cross broiler rooster. He's super sweet so I can't butcher him myself and I just don't have room for another rooster.
- One Small black Banty rooster?
I think it's a rooster anyway. I just don't want my larger birds to hurt him. . . Or her. Good pet not much for eating.

Tell me what you have and we can work something out.
Ducks turkeys quail chickens anything really as long as its female.

Anyone know why a black bear would have busted into my coop with two turkeys, and then walked right back out again??

I was thinking maybe he was after the feed, but it didn't look like he had eaten any.

He didn't touch the turkeys, and they are still pretty little, not fully feathered yet, not yet chicken sized (but close).
