I have a Barred Rock chicken that is our heart chicken. She comes inside in the morning to steal a couple of bites of our homemade dog food. She hops on our lap if we sit outside, and we love to spend time with her. I noticed that the redness on her comb, face, and earlobes starts to lost color after petting her for a bit... it returns to normal later, she isn't sick... it has happened since she was young... I was curious if anyone knew why this happened... I have tried to google it, and even search this forum, but I can't seem to find anything about it... it's almost like the opposite of blushing. We got her as a hatchling in February.
