NY chicken lover!!!!

I think it is a young hen ...my white rocks looked like this at pullets ..
and the fact that is so friendly says hen to me

I have a sibling to it that is definately a pullet and she is much smaller and no wattles coming in. Oh and her comb is much smaller. His father was crazy friendly like this when he was a chick so hoping this is a trait he is passing on to all his babies. Thanks for your input! Maybe someone might end up with a nice Olive Egger layer.

Happy Monday everyone! We picked up our babies and are very excited.
These are the names, i put them up on a chalk board i made groom as old mirror over their area. .

hubby was able to get them through his job. They had three kinds, i liked the idea about variety so we got 3 amaraucanas, 2 buff brama, and 1 amberlink.
We were going to pick 2 of each but after i picked 2 of the amaraucanas hubby fell in love with a brown one and we couldn't put one back. Lol

Thanks all for kind messages about losing Fern from our flock.

Wonderful 50 degree day here today nr Buffalo, so I got outside for a walk, excited to find some signs of spring

Then when I checked the nest box on my way back to the house, saw that our matriarch Sylvia, a Brown Leghorn who will be 4 in April, had laid her first egg of the year! A bit long and pointy, but sure it will taste wonderful!

Greeting to new members on this forum - it's a great place - love seeing the chick pictures. Off to Tractor Supply for layers pellets now, having just received an email that 'Chick Days' have started. I mustn't look!!!
