Off grid, non electric incubator?

Quote:
Here in KY, lots of gas stations have pumps for kerosene, off to one side away from the gas pumps. But I've lived in a lot of other places, too, and this is the only place I've ever seen kerosene pumps at gas stations. A lot of people around here have kerosene heaters, mostly to use in garages and work shops.

A side note on kerosene, it's really easy to get sick from the fumes, even with ventilation. I don't know how that would affect growing embryos, but I can't imagine it would be very good for them. After using a kerosene lamp during the last power outage, for just a few hours only one evening, both my DH and I had headaches for a couple of days.

I have an inverter that plugs into my car lighter, and in a pinch, I can run my incubator in the car.

@ dancingbear : yap it's good for you to have an inverter not like me, have to use kerosene lamp to keep those eggs "alive". hope that my chicken didn't have headache cause it will make me busy to run to drug store to get aspirin for my chicken.

Anyone have any suggestions for an incubator as well as a brooder for an off grid situation with no electricity?
Thanks!
Here is my paraffin lamp brooder at my allotment and it works just fine. My next project is an off the grid incubator. The only thing i am having problems with is the egg turner. I think a big old wind up clock motor should work. Hope this helps.
