I didn't click the other button, but one of the big reasons I raise chickens is for a sustainable food supply that is uncontaminated by "BIG AG".

Hard to find soy free, GMO free, pastured eggs. I like having control over the quality. Also to be more self-sufficient.

What started as egg production turned into egg and meat production, then turned into I'm going chicken crazy!!!! Love these little cheeps. Wish i could have many more.

I voted eggs and "other."

The other is because I want to stop supporting an industry that keeps chickens in tiny cages and treats them as products rather than living animals. I want to eat eggs that come from chickens who have a HAPPY life, where they are free to socialize, walk around, and engage in normal chicken behaviors (like dust bathing and scratching for bugs).

I love my Girls and Roo they are the best thing that ever happened to me since my accident. I find my Buff Orpington's are so inquisitive and love to follow me around the yard. If I am digging and turning over the soil they are right there looking for worms. They are great eggs layers and cuddly companions who love to be held :cd. I've raised them since they were just basically hatched too, so we've really bonded. Don't know what I'd do without them??
