I have 8 chickens about 6 months old and 2 of them started laying 3 weeks ago.
Nice smallish brown eggs with hard shells.
Today I found an egg in a different place and it had no shell.
Could it be another chicken starting to lay or do I need to give them something extra?
They free range all day and I give them layer pellets, also crushed egg shells.

Thats perfectly normal but not too common. It happens a lot with beginning layers along with double yolks. If the membrane is keeping the yolk in that means they are very healthy :)
