I bought my chickies today. I got 5 Buff Orpingtons, Five Silver laced Wyandottes, a black Austrolorp (wanted more, and she is my tiniest!) and this mystery chick. the guy at the feed store had no idea, said he'd nev gotten one like it before. Any idea?

It seems I can only post one photo at a time...? I have a photo of it next to a BO chick, and it's a darker color, kind of brownish down the back.

I'd guess Rhode Island Red, possibly EE but its really missing most of that chipmunk pattern if its EE>

The Feed store guy supplies a few stores around here with the chicks. He said he'd never seen one like it.

Someone suggested it might be a Buff-Rhode Island cross, or Buff-New Hampshire cross.

Perhaps time will tell.
