oops! I locked down too early.

I feel bad. I put my coturnix eggs into lock down days early. I couldn't figure out why I didn't have any hatch, so I double checked the calendar. I was suppose to lock down on Friday not hatch on Friday. Its too late to worry about it now but I sure do feel stupid!

Mistakes happen to all of us, so don't feel stupid. Hopefully your quail will hatch and everything will be fine.

Actually, you can lock down 5 days before hatch without any ill effects. 3 days is the suggested, but they can tolerate up to 5 days before.

Lockdown is when you stop turning the eggs and wait for the hatch without opening the incubator. You essentially lock down your hands by sitting on them if you have to. LOL
