I have a little Hen that I got 2 weeks ago. She's only 4 weeks old. She is growing at a slower rate than my other hens. 1 or 2 of the hens pick on her a little bit but not much. I was wondering what all the reasons she's growing slower could me.
I also baby'd her a lot in the beginning but slowly stopped. I don't know if that could be a reason but I figured I'd throw it out there.

If she is healthy, active, alert, eating and drinking than it probably isn't a disease. It could be genetic or she could be inbred, leading to her just being weaker naturally.

She could be low in the pecking order and being bullied away from the food.

She could also have parasites that cause her to grow slower.

Is she a different breed from the others?

Best of luck to you and your chicks!

She isn't a different breed. They're all Light Brahmas
