Oregano water

Has anyone heard of soaking Oregano in water and giving it to flock as a natural antibiotic? And if so how often would you recommend doing this?

I haven't personally tried it on my flock, but there have been numerous discussions about it on BYC, like in this thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/1144382/oregano-in-water/10. Did you do this and did you notice any benefits? I don’t have fresh so will dehydrated work
