Hey arwmommy,
Where in SYV are you? I live in Buellton and am also raising my first dozen banties. They are 3 weeks old and doin well on organic starter crumbles. I too was in a quandry, but decided to go with the organic. You may want to talk to Cathrine at Island seed and feed in Goleta. She seemd to have good advise and knowledge. Hopefully I have made the right choice to go with the organic. Only time will tell. I think I am going to try the powdered milk thing for a little piece of mind.

Brian, I am in Buellton, too! I have already special ordered Organic starter from Gracian Feed in Buellton, and they consistently carry the Organic Layer. I think I will try the powdered milk thing as well.
