Hello! I have 2 Orpington chicks purchased as sexed pullets from a respected hatchery. One is most definitely turning out to be a pullet, but the 2nd is throwing me for a loop. They were extremely slow to feather, only having wing feathers in at 4 weeks old. In comparison, the other Orpington was fully feathered at the same time. I know Orpingtons are slow to mature, so I am holding out hope for now, but wondering what the general consensus is.
They are a blue splash Orpington that just turned 8 weeks. They have almost no tail feathers, and the tail feathers they do have are curled on the end. They’re also noticeably smaller than their blue sister as seen in photo 3.
