I think you and your birds are really going to like the roof that you put on. I don't provide any lighting in my coop. 2 small windows and my skylight (I only have 1 panel on an 8x8ft roof) work great all winter long.

there is actually an attic space up above the coop with a window in it so the light goes through the roof and through the window into the coop.
