Our new freeze proof gravity waterer....sort of

Took some getting used to, but once the big waterer outside froze, they started using these that we put inside the coop. Keeps from freezing, and they don't seem to be able to poop in it like the other ones

Perfect Water bottles. It is oxygenated...but the chickens don't get that. just refilled from a garden hose

I guess it doesn't get that cold there? Otherwise, I don't see how they keep from freezing either.

My egg guy told me he just gives hot water twice a day and it has worked for him for years. I am not lazy but if I can rig up something small like that, that will save me one trip of carrying water. It looks like any water bottle would work.

Where did you get the little gizmos they empty into?

Love the idea of something they will have a hard time pooping in. Geez, those chickens!
