Owls DO hunt chickens and roosters!

I believe owls fall under the predatory bird laws..... owls, hawks, falcons, eagles.... harassing and/or injuring and/or killing any of them can get you in big, very expensive trouble.
So.... not a good idea to blatantly post about it. But congrats.

I agree. All owls are protected, no exceptions for livestock losses. I would not post in a public forum, they do get checked by members of the law and you may get in quite a bit of trouble.
 
This may be true.
I'll have to look into our state's laws on the matter.

The DNR site even has suggestions on how to keep them away by setting certain things in trees like bright pie pans and such.

You can trap them, but you need to get approval first, and if you do catch one you have to call and report it so that it can be relocated. Info indicates that if a bird is relocated it has to be in the same county.
Kinda makes sense.
