I think there is something qrong with my one of my hens. She lost color in her comb, and she had a real goopy vent. I did some reading and so I gave her an epson salt bath and cleaned her back side. Now she looks to be just slow and mopey. She didn't stink like a yeast infection and I dont feel an egg shaped blockage. No weasing or nasal discharged. Eyes look fine. She doesn't make any odd sounds either.

Anyone have any ideas?

It's not raw apple cider with venegar, it's raw apple cider vinegar, thekind with the mother; Bragg's is a common brand. Abpout a TBSP to a gallon.

Vent gleet is a term commonly used for a group of contidtions with thesse syptoms. It can have several causes. Here is a thread about a "practical treatment program" that may work for you:

Here is an article on it:

And here is a more thorough and technical explanation:

Thank you for the clarification Judy, your post was much more thorough than mine.

What are your thoughts on the link I shared on how to make your own apple cider vinegar at home for pennies a gallon? Bragg's is rather expensive for everyday use.

Has she ever been dewormed? Intestinal parasites can cause all of the symptoms you described. If she's not on a regular deworming schedule I'd suggest deworming her with something safe and effective like Valbazen or Safeguard.

I've never tried it but then I don't use ACV. It should work, it seems to me.
