Paper-piecing quilt question?

NanaKat, I don't have a name for the pattern to my knowledge. I saw a picture and I copied it basically. The hexagon is one piece and when the diamonds are sewn together to make the 6 pointed star they're joined with blue diamonds around the hexagn.

thank you nanakat!! It was originally going to be a twin bedspread, but I think now it will make two crib quilts, which I'm gonna try to sell through etsy... know anybody who wants a blue and purple celestial baby quilt? lol

Thank you, I've been doing hand quilting for years but haven't made many except for crib quilts (I have 20 grandchildren) (hubby has 12) We've been married now for 18 years so we came with ready made families. I just started machine quilting three years ago and I love it but it brings new things to learn. It just takes practice and I'm sure you'll get better each time you do something. I make quilted table runners, placemats and totes as well as Christmas stockings so I'm not just doing quilts.

Lots of luck. The important thing is to have fun doing it.
