When Peaches clutch all proved to be duds I snuck 3 SLW and 3 Speckled Sussex under her. She’s a super protective mama and this is the closest she has ever allowed me!

The gang is 32 days old now. I picked up a chick that strayed from mom in the run a couple of days ago. Peaches was not having any of that! She full on attacked me leaving scratches on both of my hands and wrists! I’ve never experienced such a viciously protective mama! My first broody hen let me handle her chicks from day one, even let me take the eggs for candling. This one is out for blood! But I’m ok with that. She’s a good mama.
