Pekin--Laying and Breeding

Hey Y'all,

I recently picked up some pekin ducklings. I would like to have enough to raise for breeding and for egg production.

At what age should I expect them to start laying?

Also, will they breed and lay all year? Or is it something that only occurs during the spring and early summer?

I believe they begin laying around 6ish months of age.

Mine started at 24 weeks if I recall. I have 3 hens and a drake. I have all the eggs I can handle.

We have had very good luck incubating the eggs. Hatched 6 so far this year.

Absolutely. Eggs slow a bit but I was getting 1-2 eggs per day from 3 hens during the winter.
