easter eggers are a generic mix of birds that lay eggs from blue to olive. to get olive eggers you cross a blue egg shelled bird woth a dark brown tinted egg roo. the tint over the blue shelled egg makes the green color

the dark tinted birds most commonly used are Marans. My Black Copper Marans roo is in with Ameaucanas to produce green/olive egg layers and those chicks could have feathered feet.

Great! until when are you feeding them with chick starter?
i only feed it the first 2 weeks to baby chicks

then i feed them 22% starter/grower till they are 8 weeks old

at 8 weeks of age i switch to 15% grower

this gives the birds bones time to become large enough to support them

i tend to keep my birds on grower feed till they either start laying or when they reach 20 weeks of age

whichever comes first
