Pics of Q, our Courtnix Quail

Thanks. We are hoping he will be a good layer. You are close to
us. Maybe you'll want a couple of his eggs.

Momma always said how good rooster eggs are. That's mighty kind of you.

That is one fat little bird! I hope mine grow like that! I have 9 growing out now from sam and several from tori. I can't wait until Thanksgiving - we will be serving quail and homegrown turkey!

Drooling....

The pics make him look a lot bigger than he really is. I'd compare him to a 5 week old
silkie in size.

He's gonna be a pet. We are not allowed chickens where we are moving to
so we are gonna stash some quail and a few silkies in a small shed.

We have 50 of Sam's eggs at day 12 right now. Some of them will be pets
and some may be a main course.

He's jumpy but not crazy. He'll sit on my shoulder and not move. Drumstick
isn't holding him tight at all in that pic. Our meat birds at 4 weeks are a LOT
more skittish than Q is.

HOW SHALL YOU LIVE WITHOUT CHICKENS?!

I know that that wouldn't be possible for me.

I have no idea. MooseHillFarm was just here picking some up. Luckily we know
a lot of fellow BYCers in CT that will give our babies GREAT HOMES where we
can visit them from time to time.
