This is my miniature longhaired Dachshund. A dog who has successfully hunted birds and rabbits in the past and likes the taste of fresh blood.

The yellow box has our new baby chicks in it.

Dolly is my dogs name. I told folks in my intro that she seemed to think I'd bought them for her to eat. I told people in my post that in this pic she wanted to treat the birds like they were a McDonald's Happy Meal.

This pic is now several days old. I got across to her that the birds are mine. She has now accepted them. In her world her job is to protect me and my things.. and when there is a situation she can't handle I am to step in and protect her. She has ran our cats away from the cage several times now.

I'd have been happier if my truck was a little cleaner but I could not let this moment go by.
