Ozarkflyer or anyone else for that matter.Dont put those landscape timbers in the ground for posts . They will rot after a coupla years. I wish I would have known. Only use the treated 4x4s or treated finished lumber. Even though they lead you to believe those landscape timbers work they dont under the ground
 
Franzen Farms, do you have a wire or a cable running from side to side, and on top of the boards you have in the middle?
 
Has anyone used pvc arched over the top of pen to support netting? How did you fasten it to the boards? We had made holes in the boards and slipped the ends of the pvc pipe into the holes. Looked great until a heavy wet snow hit an the weight of the snow on the netting knocked the pvc over. We even had wire running around each piece and down to the 2 x 4s to help hold the arches in place on one pen and that didn't help.

Any ideas? Would lag bolts into the ends bea better option? Would really like to know what has worked for others in areas where snow can be a problem.
