In the Brooder
(1) My family and I are in the planning stage for raising chickens.
(2) We do not have any at this point. Clearing an area on our land for a coop & pen. We are also studying breeds and how to care for them.
(3) We do not have any chickens at this point. We are working on the coop and pin now and plan to introduce chickens in the Spring 2023 (after the winter). We plan to begin with 6 chickens and once we feel confident we may decide to grow the flock.
(4) We like pretty chickens, good layers and with gentle temperament.
(5) Our family enjoys gardening, hiking and fly fishing.
(6) My wife and I are retired in the mountains of Western, NC. We have seven children spread throughout the southeast. We also have to very friendly dogs… Dixie (Husky) and Willow (Shitzu).
(7) We discovered with website when searching the internet for articles on how to raise chickens.
