Hi! My goose has been sick for over a month now. We took him to an avian vet Twice now and has been on Three other types of antibiotics, as they have been concerned that he is either septic or close to being septic with a very bad bacterial infection. The antibiotics seem to keep him going but he’s not really making a full recovery. I had noticed some swelling around the base of his bill and thought maybe it was due to the infection but now I’m noticing that it looks like a deep Ridge in the swelling and I’m wondering if maybe something like a cord or a piece of floss got caught in there and that is what’s causing the infection that won’t go away. His brother doesn’t have anything that looks like that at all around his bill and when I rub along the bottom of it it feels like perhaps there is some sort of ridge or cord that goes around but I can’t see anything that goes all the way around inside of his mouth . Any ideas? I’m going to send this information to the vet as well but they are closed today and I’m wondering if anybody has had anything like this with a goose. I’m attaching photos of the poor guy. He’s the sweetest thing and my daughter’s pet so we really want to help him.
