This light colored Easter Egger chick has a body shape quite similar to another one I got with it. Very outgoing and pinker comb with noticeable texture since early on. Other than that feathering seems to be similar to other one as well.

Next was wondering about the Black Australorp with the redder comb in the front. Other than the comb they look and act alike.

This is the pale comb one in the back

We usually buy our chicks early spring and keep them in a brooder box so it's easy for me to observe them. In my experience the cockrels combs usually come out first. I've noticed they jump at other chicks and take the lead and venture out first when I change their food and water. There's always an exception I'm sure, but my gut had been right in most cases. I got fooled by Rural King this year and pulled 3 males out of their pullet bin. I could tell they weren't pullets after awhile by their behavior.
