Please help! Is this coccidiosis? Poop is runny, green, watery and smelly with blood and 'flesh', pi

I'm sorry to say that it's possible that this could happen again. Good luck with her and hope she has a speedy recovery.

Could she still get this again with no oviduct?! I truly hope not :S

Mychookschick, it was lucky that I'd decided to save up for my very first holiday or else I wouldn't have had the money either! It took a very long time to save up but I need her much more than a holiday, she's definitely something special

You're right I didn't! I'm allowed to be a little bird brained though, having had no sleep in almost 3 days

such a great story i hope your baby is well today i enjoy reading these older posts i always learn so much!!! im glad you chose to save her and wow 10 eggs what a miricle

Is she lethargic, puffed up, eating poorly, looking ruffled, and having diarrhea or blood in her stools? Corid (amprollium) liquid 2 tsp per gallon of water for 5-7 days is the treatment. They usually look very ill. If there are other chickens, they should also be treated, and after treatment vitamins and probiotics should be given.

Update on Gladys, I took her to see a specialist earlier today, she has a broken egg inside of her and the fleshy lump she'd passed is believed to be a chunk of her oviduct. There is a nasty infection and the lumps of broken egg couldn't be removed because they were too deep, she was given strong antibiotics and metacam to see if the swelling and pain will go down enough to let her pass the broken egg, although given the state of her duct I doubt she will manage to. The vet has given her until monday, after then she said I have to make the decision between having her put to sleep or have an operation to remove her oviduct. I told her I don't have much money but I'll find it somehow. Wether she passes the egg or not the chances are it could happen with every egg, I need her and she needs that op. I've only had her for a week but I've bonded so much with her, I'd give anything I can to see her well again; wish us luck!
Aw, what good chickeneering(as I call it). I'd be concerned with anesthesia honestly :(. I know reptiles are not good with anesthesia.
