Plucking a Turkey

Oops, hit the wrong key there. I have the Schweiss Plucker. It works good, doesn't get all of the feathers but anything helps when you are doing 14 of them.
We then pick the remaining feathers, gut, wash and proceed to pick all of the nasty feather and feather parts that won't come out. We use a plyers and paring
knife, but some of the larger feather are really tough. Does anyone have any suggestions? I raised the white turkeys last year and didn't have the black dye that
we have with the BB ones this year. The lower breast feather are hard as my birds had worn some of them off (I think their tummies drug on the ground). I think we will
go back to the white turkeys next year.
