I hatched out 4 columbian rock bantams. 3 are (somewhat) consistent with the breed standard and then I have this one??? I believe it’s a pullet, she hatched out light brown/ chipmunk. They are at 3 weeks now and her body is pied and 2-3 shades of buff/brown. And her primaries are pointy. Anyone know what she could be???

These are pics of all 4 for comparison. Are these columbian rock bantams? I know they’re hard to sex, but hoping anyone with expertise could lend some help with sexing. Thought I had all pullets but the one with a lot of black and the smaller one in my hand seemed to have “popped” their combs out at 3 weeks.

She’s adorable

So you're asking about the one with the rust colors on the wing bars, yes?

What kind of comb does it have? Where did you get the eggs?

And btw, the black and white with the bright pink comb, is a cockerel.

I agree, definitely. I believe that he's going to be a fine looker when he feathers out.

The lovely cinnamon colored, pointy feathered chick appears to female; based solely on the tiny YELLOW comb without a hint of pink.

I disagree with the assessment of pullet on this one. That one *may* me a cockerel as well. I think they're over all too young to sex, its just that one cockerel is an early shower. The cinnamon chick I'm leaning towards cockerel as well, only because of those rust wing bars. That may change... but its way too young to judge gender over all.

Yes the rust colored one. Small single comb, not pea. Eggs were from a friend experimenting with bantam breeds here in Hawaii. Not sure where his breeding stock is from. So probably not pure columbian rocks.
